Surely you didn’t think Sherman wouldn’t have his own blog posts. Come on now. Dog rules our life! Of course he had to make a contribution. For better or for worse, let’s do this!
Like every other discerning dog out there, Sherman has a list of items that he just can’t imagine living without. Of course, he is the world’s most uncooperative dog, so while he will wear clothes, he certainly doesn’t do it with a happy heart. So this list does have a few clothing items, but just know they are there very much against his will.

A Doggie Car Seat!
Sherm used to absolutely hate riding in the car. He’d sit on Grace’s lap as I drove and just shake like a leaf in the wind. Having labs previously I’d never encountered such a reaction and on a whim decided that maybe we’d try getting him a car seat, see if that didn’t help him. Sure enough! Now if you even mention going for a car ride to him he’s just as excited as the biggest toughest lab out there!

A Fashion Forward Neon Harness!
As a poodle mix, these harnesses are for everyday wear for the Sherm, but when headed out to the beach for the day? He wouldn’t be caught dead with out it. The one he rocks is more of a 90’s throwback that would match a pair of doggie Oakleys and Hypercolor bandana, but I’m pretty sure we got that for him at Target last year, but this teal number would certainly do the trick!
A Mom and Me Collar and Bracelet Matching Set
Sherman is such a good son and lives to make his mother happy. So there is no doubt that he would gladly wear this collar to match his mom’s bracelet. This might be more appropriate on a list of Grace’s Spring Faves, but really Sherm would probably love it just as much. And he’d look so good in that blue color!
Mat Rake!
Being a poodle mix, Sherm is very prone to mats. Combine this with grooming being a whopping $100 a pop (a cost I’m happy to pay when possible!!! Dog groomers do an amazing service.) and a pandemic this last year, a mat rake is a necessary addition to this list even if Sherman himself would disagree wholeheartedly. This rake cuts through the smallish mats which helps keeping things under control until you have to break out the big guns.
So, while Sherman does not actually endorse this product, it is quite the necessary tool to have around.
Travel Bed
If Sherman loves nothing else, he’d still be obsessed with anything soft, fluffy, and even remotely comfy. When we put a fuzzy blanket on the bed? He immediately jumps up and makes himself a little nest. The world could be crashing around his head, and he wouldn’t care at all if he had a nice place to nap while it was happening.
So a travel bed? Absolutely a must. It can go in the car seat for longer trips, it can go camping, it can simply be thrown on the floor! No matter where it goes, it will be appreciated.
Doggy DNA Test!!!!!
Every single time we leave the house and happen to run into other people, someone will ask what type of dog Sherman is. When we explain that he is very much a mutt, they’ll immediately reply that he looks just like their dog Maisy so he must this kind of dog. Or he’s totally this other type of dog. And those people are always 100% certain that he is xyz.
But really, we have no idea. He’s obviously a poodle mix, but beyond that? He’s a small white dog. That’s all we know. That obviously creates an identity crisis for poor Sherm, so this Doggy DNA test has been on his wishlist for years. YEARS.
Maybe this is the year!

Was this post simply a vehicle to post more photos of Sherman? Duh. Of course it is!
